Here are some situations that might need your First Aid.

SHOCK:
Keep warm, quiet and calm..
Elevate hind end if no spinal injuries present.

SEIZURES:
Keep animal from injuring themselves, move items from around them.
Keep animal quiet after the seizure
Use "T-Touch" rub ears to calm animal.

HEAD INJURIES:
Seizures
Vomiting
Lethargic

BLEEDING:
Ear, tail, foot pad and penis can result in a fatal hemorrhage.
Use sanitary napkin as a pressure dressing.

INTERNAL BLEEDING:
Treat for shock--Keep warm, quiet and calm.
No food or water.
Check ABC's

HEAT STROKE
Dogs do not have sweat glands, must pant to get cool.
Car, even with windows rolled partially down, can get up to 120 degrees in 5 minutes.
Remove to shaded area.  Cool with water, either a hhose or wet towel drpaed over animal.

BURNS:
First degree red skin, hair singed, be sure to cool area with water.
Second degree:  hair burned off, blisters.
Third degree, skin charred no hair, swelling.

ELECTRIC BURNS:
Turn off Electricity.
Check ABC's
Usually have the mouth and tongue burns which cause swelling to airways.

POISON:
Antifreeze #1 killer.  One teaspoon will kill a small cat or dog.
#2 killer is Rat Poison.
Baker's chocolate and raw onions are TOXIC.
For the above, induce vomiting immediately
Use 3 Hydrogen Peroxide--1 teaspoon per ten pounds, up to 9 tespoons every 10-15 minutes.  NO MORE THAN  TWO TEASPOONS FOR CATS.  or a salty solution on the back of tongue will induce vomiting.
Toads:  rinse mouth.  Call Vet!
